Volleyball Coach

A FIVB Technical Evaluator, game analyst and expertise consultant, Dr. Da Matta has coached volleyball for more than 30 years. In 2005 Dr. Da Matta earned the U.S. National Title in Men’s and Women’s with SC Juniors Volleyball at the Open Division. Dr. Gylton Da Matta is an Adjunct Professor of Education at Colorado State University. Currently collaborating with the USA Volleyball coaching education program, Dr. Da Matta owns a center for excellence in sports, YOSA, The Youth Sports Academy in Fort Collins, CO.. In 2005 he earned the USA women’s volleyball National Championship title at the Open Division, both men’s and women’s. Dr. Da Matta has several publications on skills development in volleyball, the impact of rules change in practice and the role of technology/ visual feedback in motor skills acquisition as well as best practices across the spectrum of expertise development in volleyball (coaches and athletes). He has presented at dozens of sports clinics, camps, exchanges and workshops across the United States and internationally (Argentina, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, United Kingdom, Greece, Netherlands, Japan, Singapore, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Morocco and Brazil) as well.
